Our Story
How Toronto Foundation Repair Pros became the GTA's most thorough foundation assessment service.
We Started Because Homeowners Were Getting Bad Information
The foundation repair industry in Toronto has a specific problem: most homeowners don't know enough about foundations to evaluate the advice they're getting. A contractor who stands to make $20,000 on a full waterproofing system has an obvious incentive to recommend it — even when a $2,000 crack injection would solve the actual problem.
Toronto Foundation Repair Pros was built around a different approach. We put the written inspection report first — before any discussion of what work to do. You get photos of every deficiency, a severity rating, and an explanation of what happens if each item is left alone. Then you make an informed decision.
This model is slower and generates fewer oversized jobs. But it produces something more valuable: homeowners who trust what we tell them, who refer their neighbours, and who call us back when something new comes up — instead of wondering whether they got sold something they didn't need.
Over 2,400 assessments later, across every part of the GTA, the model still works. We've stayed smaller than we could be because doing thorough work takes time, and time spent with homeowners explaining what they're looking at is time well spent.

How We Work
Assessment Before Action
Every project starts with a written inspection report. You see the findings, the severity ratings, and the repair options before you commit to anything. This is non-negotiable for us.
Honest Scope
We repair what needs repairing. If a crack can be sealed with a $600 epoxy injection, we won't sell you a $15,000 interior waterproofing system. Commission-based selling has no place in a business built on repeat referrals.
Regional Knowledge
Toronto's housing stock is 150 years wide. Fieldstone, brick, block, poured concrete, ICF — each material and era has its own failure modes. Our technicians are trained on all of them, not just the newest construction.
Permit Compliance
Underpinning, structural crack repair, and egress window installations require permits. We file them, manage the engineering process, and schedule inspections. Unpermitted structural work costs homeowners significantly more when discovered at resale.
How We Grew
First assessments completed in Toronto proper, focused on the pre-war housing stock along Danforth and Bloor.
Expanded coverage to North York and Scarborough as demand for block wall repair and waterproofing grew.
Added underpinning services as Toronto's basement apartment conversion market accelerated.
Expanded to Peel Region: Mississauga and Brampton assessment volumes matched Toronto within two years.
Added Durham Region coverage (Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa) and York Region (Markham, Richmond Hill, Vaughan).
Full GTA coverage established. Assessment volume exceeded 2,400 properties assessed.
